Early Years Group Leader – May – Langley Prep – Norwich, Norfolk Hours of work: 08:30 – 17:30 Salary: ÂŁ421.52 – ÂŁ628.71 per week, depending on age, experience, and qualifications. (Contracts for February Half Term will be issued based on 2023 wage levels. From 1st April 2024, the new wage level will apply.) Report to: Early Years Manager, Camp Manager, Area Manager, and Central Office Barracudas is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff are expected to share this commitment. Early Years Group Leader Duties Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Assist in setting up and maintaining an inviting base room that is tidy and well-equipped. Follow policies and procedures to ensure children’s safety and enjoyment. Adhere to the activity timetable to deliver a variety of sessions. Collaborate with staff to deliver sessions effectively. Act as the children’s Key Worker, managing communication about their experiences. Ensure children’s needs are met through active supervision and attention. Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities using available resources. Encourage participation while following OFSTED guidelines. Get to know children individually and incorporate their interests into activities. Take responsibility for children’s welfare and safeguarding. Ensure safe use of equipment during sessions. Facilitate children’s development through Explore and Play sessions. Requirements Working towards or holding a relevant childcare qualification. Knowledge and experience of the EYFS. At least 18 years old by the start date. Legal eligibility to work in the UK. Satisfactory references. Enthusiastic, caring, organized, with excellent communication skills and initiative. Ability to handle unpredictable challenges. Enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or existing on the Update Service. Attend a Virtual Assessment Event if new to Barracudas. Complete annual online training. Attend an induction training day before camp opens. Assist with camp pack-up at the end. Additional Responsibilities Follow health and safety policies diligently. Organize activities appropriate to qualifications and skills. Encourage participation in new activities. Maintain children’s safety, behavior, and well-being. Follow all camp procedures and guidelines. Promote a healthy lifestyle and hygiene. Report child protection concerns. Make reasonable adjustments for children with additional needs. Deliver Skills Builder sessions if available. Support swimming sessions (bring swimwear and spare T-shirt). Perform other duties as required by the role and organization’s needs.
