Envision Yourself at Barracuda:
Barracuda Networks is looking for a UX Designer II to own the end-to-end design experience for two of our cloud-delivered SASE network security solutions. At Barracuda, you will partner closely with Product Management and Engineering, translating complex security capabilities into intuitive, high-quality user experiences that drive feature adoption and user behaviour. The ideal candidate is a seasoned, self-directed designer who can hit the ground running, build deep product expertise quickly, and consistently ship polished work that leverages our shared design system.
What you’ll be working on:
- Own hands-on UX design for two complex security products - a SASE solution and a firewall product - driving work from problem definition through delivery.
- Embed within cross-functional teams, partnering daily with Product Management and Engineering to define requirements, align on solutions, and deliver high-quality designs.
- Leverage and contribute to the shared design system to ensure consistency across products and reduce design debt.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate UX workflows including ideation, rapid prototyping, content generation, and design iteration.
- Conduct lightweight user research as needed - including usability tests and interviews - to validate design decisions and uncover user needs; partner with the dedicated research team on larger strategic initiatives.
- Design for full user flows, error states, and edge cases with a focus on clarity, usability, and driving adoption of key product features.
- Present and defend design decisions at weekly design critiques, incorporating feedback to continuously improve your work.
- Build deep subject matter expertise across both products to inform design decisions grounded in user behaviour and real-world security workflows.
What you bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of UX design experience; or Master’s degree with 3+ years; or equivalent work experience.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating hands-on design execution for complex, data-dense, or technical SaaS products - experience in security, networking, or enterprise software is a significant plus.
- Expert proficiency with Figma and standard design tools; demonstrated ability to work efficiently within an established design system.
- Proven ability to work independently across multiple products simultaneously, managing your own priorities within a fast-moving team structure.
- Experience conducting lightweight user research - usability testing, interviews, or observational studies - and translating findings into actionable design improvements.
- Familiarity with AI tools used in UX workflows such as generative design assistants, AI-powered prototyping, or automated research synthesis; a curiosity for adopting new tools that improve speed and quality.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present design rationale clearly to Product and Engineering partners and incorporate critique constructively.
- A track record of shipping high-quality, production-ready designs consistently and on time.
What you’ll get from us:
- A team where you can voice your opinion, make an impact, and where you and your experiences are valued.
- Internal mobility – there are opportunities for cross training and the ability to attain your next career step within Barracuda.
- In addition, you will receive equity, in the form of non-qualifying options.
