Our Company Barracare operates within the residential children’s homes sector. The organisation provides vulnerable children care at the highest level and has an ambitious growth strategy to achieve this on a regional scale.
The homes are based in Lancashire in the town of Brierfield, and Calderdale in the town of Todmorden; they accommodate up to four children with challenging behaviours and emotional difficulties.
The Deputy Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our children’s home. As the deputy, the role involves close collaboration with the Registered Manager to create a nurturing and supportive environment for the children in our care. The responsibilities encompass both administrative/managerial tasks and direct interaction with young people, monitoring individual care plans, health needs, and educational progress. The Deputy Manager works closely with external agencies and other professionals involved in the children’s lives.
We’re looking for a caring, sociable and energetic individual. The role is demanding so you’ll need to be resilient and patient. Experience of working with young people in a similar setting is essential. Successful applicants are required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure, provide satisfactory references and be able to demonstrate they have the qualities to succeed in this sector.
