About The Role
As our Group Learning and Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the learning and development strategy across our Hotel Portfolio. This role ensures that employees are well-equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs efficiently, and that there is a clear, structured career progression path in place. This role includes identifying training needs, developing training materials, delivering training sessions, and evaluating the effectiveness of training initiatives to ensure the business's goals are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Learning Culture & Strategy: Embedding a consistent learning and development culture that supports engagement, performance and career progression. Identifying training needs through structured analysis aligned with business goals.
- Design & Development: Designing and implementing tailored learning solutions, including face-to-face training programmes and digital learning content using Articulate Rise 360 (SCORM-exported modules).
- Training Delivery: Delivering engaging, high-impact face-to-face training across the hotel portfolio. Facilitating monthly company inductions across multiple sites. Designing, delivering and continuously enhancing leadership, management and supervisory development programmes to build future leaders.
- Learning Systems & Evaluation: Managing and optimising learning content through the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring accessibility and engagement. Evaluating training effectiveness using feedback, assessments, KPIs and performance data, making improvements where required.
- Apprenticeships & Budget Management: Leading and managing the apprenticeship programme in partnership with the Group Talent Acquisition Lead. Building and maintaining relationships with external apprenticeship providers. Managing the training budget effectively, ensuring value for money and alignment with company guidelines.
- Collaboration: Working closely with the Head of People, Employee Relations Lead, Managing Directors, Heads of Department and Line Managers to support organisational development priorities.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Have proven experience as a Learning & Development Manager (ideally within hospitality).
- Have excellent instructional design expertise using adult learning principles.
- Have experience with LMS platforms and e-learning tools, including Articulate Rise and 360.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence engaging audiences at all levels.
- Have well-honed project management and organisational skills, able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Have data analysis and reporting skills, including competency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Have excellent analytical skills to assess needs, evaluate impact and make data-driven decisions.
- Be resilient, adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Have Learning & Development qualification/credentials (CIPD Level 5 or equivalent) or a minimum of 5 yearsβ relevant experience.
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.
Desirable:
- Having previous Learning & Development experience within the hospitality industry.
