We are now seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Head Housekeeper to support the leadership of our Housekeeping department and help uphold the impeccable standards that define Hoar Cross Hall. Working closely with the Head Housekeeper, you will be instrumental in the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the department. You will lead by example on the floor, motivate and develop the team, and ensure our guest bedrooms and public areas consistently reflect the luxury of our surroundings. This is a hands‑on leadership role, ideal for someone who takes genuine pride in presentation, thrives in a high‑end environment and understands the importance of detail in luxury hospitality.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting the leadership and daily management of the Housekeeping team
- Allocating workloads and supervising room attendants, linen porters, PA cleaners and supervisors
- Carrying out detailed inspections of bedrooms, arrivals, departures and public areas
- Ensuring maintenance issues are promptly reported and followed up
- Assisting with recruitment, inductions and ongoing training of team members
- Overseeing payroll checks, daily figures and absence records
- Managing lost property in line with company procedures
- Supporting audits, stock control and equipment checks
- Maintaining exceptional standards of health & safety, COSHH and fire compliance
- Liaising closely with Front Office to ensure accurate room status and guest satisfaction
- Have proven experience in a supervisory or deputy housekeeping role within a hotel or luxury environment
- Be a natural leader who inspires pride, professionalism and teamwork
- Have exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
- Be calm, confident and professional in a fast‑paced setting
- Be immaculately presented, reliable and discreet
