Senior Director Compliance - Pharmaceutical/biotechnology
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced compliance and legal professional to join a growing international life sciences organisation developing innovative therapies in a highly regulated environment.
Reporting to the VP Compliance, this senior leadership role will be responsible for leading UK and EU compliance, ethics and privacy programmes while providing practical legal and regulatory support to the business.
The position offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and enhance UK and EU compliance and ethics programmes.
- Advise on pharmaceutical and healthcare compliance requirements, including industry codes and regulatory obligations.
- Provide guidance on GDPR, UK GDPR and wider data privacy matters, including DPIAs and DSARs.
- Support promotional and medical material review processes.
- Deliver compliance training, risk assessments, audits and investigations.
- Advise on commercial agreements, including contracts with healthcare professionals and organisations.
- Partner with senior leadership to promote a strong culture of compliance and ethical decision-making.
About You
- Qualified lawyer in the UK or EU.
- Significant compliance and ethics experience within the life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech or healthcare sectors.
- Strong knowledge of GDPR and European compliance frameworks.
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Commercially minded, pragmatic and able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience supporting international operations within a regulated environment.
