Role Description

The Event Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in Barnsley.

The person in this role will plan, organize, and deliver a range of events at the club, including match-day experiences, social gatherings, community functions, and supporter-focused activities.

Day-to-day tasks include coordinating event logistics, managing schedules, liaising with suppliers and partners, overseeing set-up and breakdown, and ensuring a safe, positive experience for guests.

The Event Manager will work closely with club staff and volunteers, handle bookings and inquiries, manage budgets for events, and monitor attendance and feedback to improve future activities.

This role also involves maintaining clear communication with stakeholders, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and representing the organization in a professional manner.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in event planning and coordination, preferably in sports, hospitality, or community-focused settings.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with staff, volunteers, suppliers, and guests.
  • Basic budgeting and financial management skills related to event costs and revenue.
  • Ability to work on-site in Barnsley, including some evenings, weekends, and match days as required.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices, risk assessment, and crowd management is beneficial.
  • Comfortable using standard office and event management software for scheduling, reporting, and communication.
  • Experience in customer service or guest relations, with a focus on creating inclusive and welcoming environments.
