Barnsley Recruitment Services are looking for a Quantity Surveyor for our client, a specialist contractor in social housing reactive maintenance, landlord property refurbishment, and shopfitting. This role involves managing projects across the East and West Midlands, combining office-based work with occasional site visits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, submit, and agree monthly valuations for projects
  • Identify, price, and notify relevant parties of variations
  • Conduct take-offs and measurements for social housing reactive maintenance tasks
  • Procure materials required for the works
  • Negotiate and prepare final accounts with clients and contractors
  • Provide monthly commercial performance reports, highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure efficient and timely project delivery
  • Attend progress reviews and provide commercial input

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction, maintenance, or refurbishment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-organised and capable of working independently or as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits
