Job Description

Up to £17.38 per hour | 4-Day Working Week | Permanent

Are you an experienced Machine Operator with a background in sheet metal fabrication?

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer of bespoke power generation solutions.

Due to continued growth, they're looking for a skilled Machine Operator to join their Prep Team, preparing metal components for fabrication and paint.

The Role

Working within a busy manufacturing environment, you'll operate a variety of metalworking machinery while ensuring all work meets high quality and safety standards.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Operating guillotines, press brakes, CNC plasma cutters and band saws.
  • Reading and interpreting 2D technical drawings to calculate cut sizes.
  • Setting up and adjusting machinery to meet production requirements.
  • Loading and unloading materials safely and efficiently.
  • Carrying out routine machine maintenance and safety checks.
  • Inspecting completed components to ensure they meet specification.
  • Completing production paperwork and quality records.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
  • Following all health and safety procedures and wearing appropriate PPE.

What we're looking for

To be successful in this role, you'll have

  • Previous experience operating guillotines, press brakes, CNC plasma cutters and/or band saws.
  • The ability to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings.
  • Experience within sheet metal fabrication or a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
  • A good level of physical fitness for a hands-on role involving lifting, carrying and standing for extended periods.
  • Working Hours
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
