We are currently looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (electrical biased) based in Leeds (LS9).
Salary: £58,000 per annum (DOE)
Shifts: Rotating Monday–Friday (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm / 10pm–6am)
A long-established, industry-leading packaging manufacturer in Leeds is looking for an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join their high-performance engineering team. If you’re a skilled engineer with strong electrical expertise and experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, this role offers stability, challenge, and genuine progression.
The role
You’ll be a key engineering contact on shift, supporting production, improving machinery performance, and driving continuous improvement across the site. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work on a wide range of automated equipment, tackling both reactive and preventative maintenance.
Day-to-day you will:
- Respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime
- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance
- Fault-find across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Work with PLCs to diagnose and repair issues
- Support improvement projects to boost efficiency, safety and output
- Ensure compliance with all quality, safety and hygiene standards
- Assist with installations, commissioning and equipment upgrades
What you’ll need
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Strong electrical bias; 17th/18th Edition desirable
- Experience in manufacturing maintenance
- Confident fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of PLCs (programming a bonus)
- Understanding of LEAN, TPM or 5S is beneficial
- A proactive, organised and team-focused approach
- Full driving licence and own transport
