We are currently looking to recruit a Textiles Engineer/ Technician with Winding & Twisting experience to join our client based in Huddersfield (HD3). The business has a long history in yarn manufacturing, supplying high-quality products to UK and international customers, and operating a blend of traditional textile machinery alongside modern winding and twisting technology.
SALARY: Β£33,000-Β£35,000 per annum.
WORKING HOURS: Tuesday - Friday 07:00am-17:00pm
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Textile machinery maintenance β carry out routine and reactive maintenance on winding, twisting and associated yarn-processing machines.
- Mechanical fault finding β diagnose mechanical issues quickly to minimise downtime and maintain production flow.
- Machine setup & optimisation β set up winding and twisting machines for different yarn types, counts and twist levels, ensuring optimal performance.
- Component repair & replacement β repair or replace belts, bearings, gears, tensioners and other mechanical components.
- Preventative maintenance β complete scheduled servicing to improve reliability and reduce breakdowns.
- Alignment & calibration β ensure machines are correctly aligned, tensioned and calibrated for consistent yarn quality.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Textile industry background β essential experience working with winding, twisting or similar yarn-processing machinery.
- Mechanical engineering competence β confident with tools, mechanical assemblies and machine adjustments.
- Strong diagnostic skills β able to fault-find quickly and effectively.
- Machine setup capability β experience preparing machines for different yarn specifications.
