We are currently looking to recruit an experienced CNC Miller Programmer/Setter/Operator for our client based in Huddersfield (HD4). The business produces high-accuracy components for a range of industries, working with modern CNC machinery, tight tolerances, and a strong focus on quality, reliability, and right-first-time output. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, takes pride in their machining capability, and can confidently programme from scratch using Fanuc controls.
PAY RATE: £18 - £20 an hour, based on experience.
WORKING HOURS: Monday-Thursday 07:00am - 17:15pm (Fri/Sat/Sun off). Overtime available.
Key Responsibilities:
- CNC Programming – Create, edit and optimise CNC milling programmes using Fanuc controls.
- Machine Setup – Set tools, fixtures, offsets and workholding for efficient and accurate machining.
- Independent Operation – Run jobs from start to finish, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to specifications.
- Quality Inspection – Use measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges) to verify tolerances.
- Process Improvement – Suggest tooling, method and programme improvements to enhance cycle times and finish.
- Technical Problem-Solving – Diagnose issues with tooling, programmes or machine performance.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong CNC milling background with independent programming experience.
- Fanuc control experience is essential.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Confident in setting, programming and operating without supervision.
- Experience working to tight tolerances in a precision engineering environment.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
- Reliable, proactive and able to work effectively within a small, skilled team.
