About the Post
Senior Business Intelligence Analyst – 12‑month maternity cover, commencing 07/09/2026.
Contract supports the new Business Intelligence operating model, focusing on data‑led decision making and extending into predictive analytics and automation.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects with data developers and analysts to provide high‑quality analysis and advice, extracting, integrating, and analysing complex data from multiple systems using advanced SQL.
- Provide advice to senior leaders on strategic and operational performance management, identifying where insights can inform business decisions, drive improvement and shape future plans.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, gather insights and develop mechanisms to assess impact and measure performance.
- Develop and present data visualisations and analyses of key issues using Power BI, SSRS, Visual Studio and Excel.
- Produce high‑quality, user‑friendly reports and dashboards that display complex information and statutory data, telling compelling, actionable stories with clear recommendations to improve outcomes.
- Ensure performance management information is timely and robust, improving data quality, sharing insights and strengthening accountability.
- Enable data access for colleagues through self‑serve capabilities.
Qualifications
- Proactive and analytical individual with a passion for using data to drive improvement.
- Substantial experience using data visualisation tools and specialist technical business intelligence solutions to provide information to a variety of technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Significant experience conducting data quality assessment, data cleansing and data profiling of data from multiple sources.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills with ability to tailor messages and deliver to diverse audiences.
- Experience presenting information verbally at meetings, undertaking formal presentations and confident in using modern technologies and digital tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to build effective relationships across the organisation to communicate complex information clearly.
- A level 6 qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field.
