About the Post
We are looking for a motivated Wellbeing Project Officer to join Barnsley Council’s Community Safety service and support delivery of the Evening and Night-Time Economy delivery plan. The role will help make Barnsley town centre safer, more inclusive and welcoming.
Responsibilities
- Support delivery of the Evening and Night-Time Economy delivery plan and associated project activity.
- Use data, feedback and partner intelligence to identify issues, hotspots and emerging risks.
- Support action to reduce violence, antisocial behaviour, exploitation, spiking and non‑domestic abuse VAWG.
- Prepare project updates, reports, briefings and monitoring information for governance and funding requirements.
- Engage with partners, venues, businesses and communities to promote safer behaviours and access to support.
About You
You will be proactive, organised and confident working with a range of partners. You will have strong communication skills, good attention to detail and a commitment to safeguarding, prevention and supporting vulnerable people with dignity and respect.
Key Skills and Experience
- Experience supporting projects, partnership work or community-based activity.
- Strong organisational, communication and engagement skills.
- Confidence using information and data to support planning and reporting.
- Awareness of community safety, safeguarding, vulnerability, trauma‑informed practice and evening and night‑time economy issues.
- Ability to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends.
