Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a broad range of general regulatory litigation matters including environmental crimes such as fly‑tipping, trading standards, health and safety, food prosecutions, warrant applications, closure orders and licensing matters.
  • Work cross‑cutting with the Litigation team on general civil claims, anti‑social behaviour and rent‑related possession proceedings, injunctions and committal applications.
  • Review case files, evaluate evidence, analyse witness statements, and draft court applications, orders and other associated documentation.
  • Attend court proceedings, conduct advocacy including contested hearings, and instruct and brief counsel where required.
  • Work closely with internal colleagues such as Safer Communities, Public Health and Communities teams to provide advice, support and training.
  • Liaise with external agencies and partners as required, including Berneslai Homes under our Service Level Agreement.
