About the Post

We’re looking for a Digital Marketing Assistant to join our Strategic Communications and Marketing Team.

Supported by the Strategic Communications and Marketing Manager for Culture and Visitor Economy, you’ll be responsible for marketing our award‑winning Barnsley Museums service.

Barnsley Museums celebrates the rich heritage of Barnsley through five unique sites.

As a Digital Marketing Assistant, you’ll help deliver marketing plans, create content for exhibitions, events, and visitor attractions, and maintain and update our digital channels including websites, newsletters, and social media.

You’ll play a proactive, creative role, building innovative digital campaigns that drive visitor numbers, ticket bookings, and media coverage.

This hands‑on position involves generating content, post‑production, making decisions, and taking ownership of projects.

Key Responsibilities

Create digital marketing content for various attractions and events.

Maintain and update websites, newsletters, and social media channels.

Support marketing plans and digital campaigns targeting visitors and residents.

Collaborate with the Strategic Communications and Marketing team and the Barnsley Museums team.

Generate and optimise content to drive engagement and conversions.

Requirements

Basic Criminal Record Check required.

Proficiency in English to an appropriate standard.

Creative flair, proactive attitude, and ability to work independently.

Experience or interest in digital marketing and communications.

Capability to produce high‑quality content for diverse audiences.
