Overview

In this role, you will lead multiple construction and capital delivery projects within Barnsley’s three-year programme for children and young people. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to scope, plan, and deliver residential homes and education provision, ensuring safety, compliance, and value. The position sits in the Quality Assurance & Service Improvement team and supports outcomes for families and communities. You will shape delivery standards and coordinate with partners to create local options that keep services close to home.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple construction, refurbishment and property adaptation projects
  • Develop clear scopes, delivery plans, budgets and programmes
  • Coordinate feasibility studies, surveys, designs, planning and approvals
  • Manage contractors, consultants, architects and advisers
  • Lead procurement and appoint delivery partners
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements including CDM 2015
  • Monitor performance, safety, quality, costs, risks and milestones
  • Maintain project documentation and report to senior management
