Apprentice Teaching Assistant
Full time, fixed term temporary contract for duration of Level 3 training course
Required: as soon as possible (subject to statutory checks)
Hourly Rate: Apprentice Rate
Hours per week: 30 hours
38 weeks a year plus 2 Inset Days
The Governing Body of our popular town-centre school is looking to appoint an apprentice to work and train in our growing environment.
You will:
- Aim to develop your skills under the guidance of school staff
- Be committed to undertaking a relevant course of study ie. Level 3 in a Teaching Assistant qualification
- Have a positive approach to working with children
- Have a thirst for extending learning to outdoor settings
- Be prepared to work indoors / outdoors in order to support all aspects of children's' learning
- Have a desire to work as part of a hard-working team
- Be able to work efficiently and independently
- Be able to listen to advice given and follow clear directives
- Make a positive contribution to the values of our school
- Encourage our children to achieve their potential
- Support the vision of high expectations of behaviour

Study release to Barnsley College will be arranged as required
Applicants should be aware that they will need to commit to attending Barnsley College, completion of coursework etc out of working hours, although some time during working hours will also be allocated for personal development.
