Service: Children & Family Social Care

Working Arrangements: Agile – minimum 3 days in the office. Full‑time with flexibility to support work‑life balance, including job share in line with service needs. Flexible arrangements must maintain consistency in case management.

Contract Type: Permanent

Eligibility Requirements: The successful candidate must speak English to an appropriate standard, be a qualified social worker, and be registered with Social Work England. Enhanced DBS Check is required. If you have lived overseas in the last five years you will need to apply for an overseas criminal records check.

Legal Documents & Visa: You must be prepared to start work with all necessary legal documents, such as a valid visa. The organisation does not possess a Home Office licence and cannot provide sponsorship for visa‑related work.

Pensions: See local government pension regulations for any reduction of pension entitlements when returning to work. Seek advice from the relevant Pension Authority.

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Practice Development Hub to deliver the Social Work Academy offer and mentor Newly Qualified Social Workers during their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment.
  • Collaborate with the team manager to drive best practice and support learning and development within the team.
  • Manage a reduced caseload.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified social worker and registered with Social Work England.
  • Self‑motivated and innovative in family interventions.
  • Experience in statutory children’s social work and driving child protection and court plans for vulnerable children.
  • Committed to supporting and developing teams, with experience mentoring students, NQSWs or colleagues.
