We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, organised and professional Administrative Assistant & Attendance Officer to join our busy school office.
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and efficient individual to provide high-quality administrative support whilst leading on attendance administration.
As the first point of contact for parents, visitors and staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school office.
Key responsibilities include
- Acting as the main point of contact for the school office, welcoming visitors and responding to enquiries in person, by telephone and email.
- Managing pupil attendance and punctuality, including first-day absence calls, monitoring attendance, maintaining accurate records and following school attendance procedures.
- Producing attendance reports and supporting statutory attendance returns.
- Maintaining and updating the school's Management Information System (MIS) (experience of SIMS would be advantageous).
- Providing general administrative support including correspondence, filing, data entry and maintaining pupil records.
- Assisting with school communications (School Comms), admissions administration and other office duties as required.
- Supporting the School Business Manager with basic finance tasks eg Petty Cash, raising purchase orders and raising charges on School Comms
- Supporting the wider school team with administrative tasks.
- Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with GDPR, safeguarding and school policies.
- The Candidate
The successful candidate will have
- Previous experience in a busy administrative role, preferably within a school environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional and welcoming manner.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn school management systems.(SIMS, FMS & School Comms)
- Experience of attendance administration would be desirable.
- The ability to work independently, use initiative and remain calm under pressure.
