An excitingopportunity has arisen to join our fantastic team of volunteers in theVoluntary Services Coffee Shop at Barnsley Hopsital, located on the groundfloor of the main outpatient department.

The Coffee Shopis well-known amongst staff and our service users for the good-humoured andfriendly service our fantastic volunteers provide. Therefore this role is idealfor volunteers who demonstrate a friendly personality and a positive attitude.

The role allowspotential volunteers to meet new people and enhance many skills includingcommunication, team-working and overall customer care.

Requirements ofthe role:

Have excellent communication skills

Be organised and reliable

Ability to work in afast-paced-environment

Willingness to undertake trainingrelating to the role e.g. Food Hygiene

Ability to adhere to policies such asInfection Prevention and Control

The role sitsunder the remit of the Patient Experience and Voluntary Services team, with theVoluntary Services Co-ordinator providing support and acting as a point ofcontact for Coffee Shop Volunteers.Current Availability: 11.00am-2.00pm Monday and Friday, 12.00pm-4.00pm Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job

Servingbeverages, pre-packed sandwiches, toasted teacakes / bread and cakes.

Ensureall displays are stocked.

Checkingsell by dates on all items.

Checkingand noting temperatures of goods in the display cabinet.

Clearingtrays and crockery from the tables.

Ensuringthe serving area and chillier cabinet is kept clean and tidy.

Loadingdirty crockery into the dishwasher.

Takingclean crockery out of the dishwasher (being aware of the heat).

Wipingsurfaces down, putting things away.

Cleaningthe Coffee machine at the end of each day.
