An exciting opportunity has arisen in The Emergency Department for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our excellent team. Candidates must be hard working and committed to delivering high quality compassionate care, they must have excellent communication and organisational skills and demonstrate a keen interest in the speciality of Emergency care. The applicant must be reliable and have an understanding of the need for confidentiality. Flexibility and teamwork are essential for the role and demands of the department along with being able to adapt to changing situations.
You should be educated to GCSE Maths & English or equivalent and willingness to undertake NVQ level 3 in Clinical Care or develop equivalent level of competence which can be demonstrated by knowledge and skills gained from experience and competency-based training.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team delivering a range of designated tasks/duties of a clinical and non-clinical nature including personal compassionate care to patients, working within agreed policy and procedures. The post holder will undertake assessment and recording of basic patient clinical observations/test results as part of the overall assessment of a patient. The post holder will work under the supervision of the NMC Registrant at all times, who holds delegated accountability for the work designated.

Experience
- At least 6 months of care experience working in a health or social care setting.

Knowledge and Awareness

- Willingness to undertake competencies supported by clinical skills training and education to gain theoretical underpinning knowledge in a range of clinical interventions and use of test equipment e.g. blood glucose monitors, venepuncture, cannulation etc.
- Knowledge and understanding of current healthcare issues
Qualifications
- Care Certificate
- Completion of a clinical skills competency-based workbook or equivalent relevant experience to vocational qualification level 3, or willingness to undertake.
- GCSE Maths & English or qualified to equivalent Functional skills level 2 in Maths & English, or willingness to undertake.
