Are you a Registered Nurse who wishes to develop specialist oncology skills and make a profound difference in the lives of patients undergoing cancer treatment? We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated, and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dedicated Chemotherapy Day Unit team on a 12-month secondment. In this role, you will work closely with our specialist team to deliver high-quality, safe, and compassionate Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) and supportive treatments. This secondment is a fantastic professional development opportunity to build your expertise in oncology/haematology care, toxicity management, and holistic patient support in an incredibly rewarding environment.
We are seeking a compassionate, NMC-registered nurse with acute clinical experience who is passionate about cancer care and eager to develop specialist skills. Ideally, you will hold a recognised SACT qualification, though we warmly welcome motivated candidates ready to undertake training and competency assessments. To thrive in our busy, supportive unit, you will bring exceptional communication skills, strong organisational abilities, and a collaborative, patient-centred approach.
Main duties of the job:
- The administration of systemic anticancer therapy.
- The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision.
- The post holder will have responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care.
- The post holder will promote clinical excellence through his/her own practice, participating in evidence-based practice.
- The post holder is expected to demonstrate to, and supervise, support and develop both qualified and unqualified staff including students.
