An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join our team in the Dermatology Department at Barnsley Hospital. We are currently seeking to recruit an Assistant Medical Secretary. You will have excellent communication skills which will enable you to respond professionally to internal and external enquiries. You will have a positive, friendly attitude and be able to liaise with a wide range of staff and patients. This role will be required to support the Senior Medical Secretary, the Consultants and nursing team in providing wide-ranging medical secretarial support and to communicate with service users and patients.
Main duties of the job
You will have proven experience as a medical secretary, with relevant typing experience and knowledge of audio typing. This is a busy role, requiring a flexible approach to work. The role involves ensuring patient skin surgery results are actioned as needed, production and flow of Homecare prescriptions, covering attendance at MDT clinics in times of absence as well as ensuring patient queries are answered quickly and with empathy.
