A rare and exciting part time (16 hours per week) Band 3 opportunity has opened up to join the Breast Team in the Outpatient department. We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate individual, who can deliver high quality patient care within our Breast Team. We are a small hard-working team who pride ourselves on developing our service and our staff in order for them to feel valued for their contributions to the team.
Main duties of the job:
- To assist and work as part of a team to ensure that all safety checks have been completed and that clinic rooms are stocked and cleaned prior to clinics starting and throughout the day.
- To assist and support patients in a variety of clinics including general, prosthetic and Nurse Led.
- To assist Doctors with procedures in clinics e.g. Setting up & assisting with Biopsies.
- Ensure all appropriate documentation is completed following consultations.
- Clinical Observations.

Person Specification:
- Qualifications: Care Certificate; Completion of a clinical skills competency-based workbook or equivalent relevant experience to vocational qualification level 3, or willingness to undertake; GCSE Maths & English or qualified to equivalent Functional skills level 2 in Maths & English, or willingness to undertake.
- Experience: At least 6 months of care experience working in a health or social care setting.
- Knowledge and Awareness: Confidentiality understanding of Information Governance; Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety; Knowledge of clinical patient observations; Willingness to undertake competencies supported by clinical skills training and education to gain theoretical underpinning knowledge in a range of clinical interventions and use of test equipment e.g. blood glucose monitors, venepuncture, cannulation etc.; Knowledge and understanding of current healthcare issues.
