BarnsleyFacilities Services (BFS) have six bank vacancies for enthusiastic team playersto work as Facilities Operatives within our portering team.
We are seeking flexible individuals, eager to learn anddevelop in a fast moving and challenging area of our business. Previousexperience is desirable but not essential. We are looking for individuals whoare highly motivated and want to make a difference to the patient experienceand who demonstrate the values and personal qualities that support the BHNFT wayof working.
As a member of our Facilities Team you will be given theopportunity to work a range of shifts as dedicated departmental and sitesupport as a vital member of the BFS team providing a twenty-four-hour serviceto the Trust, its staff and patients.

Main duties of the job
To receive and carry out requested activity viabespoke portering system on handheld device
Transport patients as requested with dignity by bed, trolley or wheelchairwhile transferring patient un-supervised be aware of the appropriate. Makingsure that patients belongings and valuables are kept secure
To work in dedicated departments on a daily basisproviding full portering support; to be sufficiently prepared for interruptionand unexpected, distressing situations when involved with patient movements
Convey deceased patients on regular basis to themortuary sensitively and completing all necessary paperwork.
Change medical gases taking due care and attentionto applicable legislation for handling, storage and recognition of individualgases.
Deliver pathological specimens as requested and in cases of emergency as quickly as possible.
Collect waste material from throughout the Trust (including clinical waste). Will require moderatephysical effort in the collection of materials and the checking and completionof relevant documentation.
The collection and delivery of clean and dirty linenitems.
Drive electric tugs safely complying with writtenprocedures in the basement and the outside area prioritizing work load asrequired including documentation regarding compliance with department healthand safety practice.
Load and operate waste compactor, leaving apparatussecure when shift completed.
Deliver stores, required obtainingnecessary proof of delivery.
