Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Operational Support Manager to join our Medicine Division. Working 37.5 hours per week, you will provide operational and administrative leadership for both our Cardiology and Respiratory services.
You will be instrumental in supporting patient flow, performance targets, workforce planning, and the delivery of high quality outcomes.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in operational management within a healthcare setting

Main duties of the job
This key Band 6 role will support the day-to-day operational management and service delivery within Cardiology and Respiratory Services, ensuring safe, effective, and efficient patient care. You will work closely with clinical and operational teams to maintain service performance, support quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to the strategic development of these vital specialties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide operational leadership and support across Cardiology and Respiratory services.
- Work collaboratively with clinical leads, nursing teams, and administrative staff.
- Support service planning, capacity and demand management, and delivery of performance targets.
- Lead on day-to-day problem-solving and escalation of service pressures.
- Contribute to the implementation of quality and safety improvement programmes.
- Support workforce planning and staff engagement within the services.
