Leyton Orient Football Club is looking for a ‘Multimedia Journalist’ to join its Media & Communications department. The successful candidate will form an important part of the Comms team by editing the club’s matchday programme and will also contribute to its digital output, including the club website and social media channels. The successful candidate must have a passion for content – both written and digital, including video – and should be across current social media trends. The Multimedia Journalist will be required to work on-site at all first-team fixtures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- · To edit the club’s matchday programme
- · To manage relationships with the club’s programme providers and contributors
- · To manage the promotion of the club’s matchday programme
- · To produce content for the club’s website
- · To contribute to all the club\’s social media platforms in line with its overall business objectives
- · To increase the club’s presence on emerging and established social media platforms
- · To conduct video and audio interviews with players, members of staff and other stakeholders
- · From time to time, to film and edit videos for club channels
- · To attend all first-team fixtures and provide high-quality live reporting coverage across a number of different channels
- · To give focus to attracting a younger audience to Leyton Orient through content creation
- · From time to time to coordinate interviews with external members of the press and fan media
- · To track key performance indicators (KPIs) and evaluate content performance
- · To support the needs of other departments on an ad-hoc basis
- · To provide coverage, when required, of the club’s men’s academy and women’s first teams
- · To research opportunities for growth and promotion
- · To work in collaboration with internal stakeholders and managers
- · The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and will be expected to assist colleagues with other ad-hoc tasks from time to time
About The Candidate
- This is a full-time role that includes work on weekends and evenings;
- Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK;
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in journalism and/or news reporting, preferably with a focus on sport
- Full driving licence is preferred
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE
- Experience in working within a football club media department
- Experience of using the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Premiere Pro
- Experience of reporting at live events
- Experience of overseeing the editorial production of a printed publication
