Responsibilities

  • Deliverthe academy’s coaching curriculum including adapting activities alignedwith Club’s coaching and playing philosophies
  • Workwithin the coaches’ competency framework and participate in CPD trainingprogrammes
  • Liaisewith Lead Phase coaches within the coaching and Games programme supportingtransition from age-to-age groups and phases
  • Implementthe policies and practices highlighted in the Academy Performance Plan(APP) to ensure that the all aspects meet with desired outcomes
  • Complywith the Football League rules in delivering training models and GamesProgramme in line with EPPP rules and regulations
  • Supportmulti-disciplinary planning integrating other disciplines within theplanning and implementation stages
  • Meetall EPPP requirements in relation to planning, reporting and uploadingdata into the PMA either periodically and/or creating annual reporting
  • Attendand contribute to Departmental meetings and guide where necessary

Specific tasks

  • Supportand lead on football activities, including:
  • SupportingLead Phase coaches with regard to periodisation of coaching blocks; gameplanning and preparation; coaching and game evaluation includingpost-match analysis (all evidenced within the 0PMA)
  • Createand organise individual reviews ensuring that Individual Learning Plansform the basis for reviewing performance in addition to consultation withScience and Education departments in providing holistic individual reviewsand plans
  • Implementthe ‘coaching working week’ within your coaching timetable with regard toensuring the relevant number of coaching hours are delivered,acknowledging intensities and frequencies, and the management of rest andrecovery (plans should demonstrate that multi-disciplinary involvement isincluded)
  • Ensurethat 5-hours of CPD is achieved annually in keeping with the maintenanceof the UEFA B/A qualification
  • Ensurethat you actively engage with your individual development action plan inline with the Head of Coaching development framework
  • Implementthe academy playing and coaching strategies into the Coaching Curriculumand Games Programme
  • Supportearly and late developers and include this aspect within squad management
  • Takethe responsibility for identifying squad, age and player development byreviewing periodic reports and performance clock data; this process shouldsupport and identify potential players moving into schoolboy contractstage
  • Workwithin the player competency framework to determine that players arestaying on track with the performance philosophies embedded into theclub’s objectives
  • Workwithin the Club’s safeguarding framework (inc. welfare) in ensuringcompliance with safeguarding policies, supporting inductions, lifestylemanagement courses and exit and release strategies
  • Ensurethat you work within the Club’s Equality and Diversity policy insupporting and delivering inclusivepractices

  • Proactivedecision maker with excellent verbal and written communication skills thatis effective in communicating across all departments within amulti-disciplinary approach
  • Takesresponsibility for ensuring a high quality of work and maintainingstandards in line with the responsiveness needed for delivering againstthe club’s coaching objectives and philosophies
  • Isreceptive to feedback about ownbehaviour, strengths and areas forimprovement that identifies improvement strategies relating to academycoaching activities
  • Displaysa high level of confidentiality and transparency and is able to contributeto team meetings in a professional manner
  • Displaysan understanding of the academy’s coaching curriculum and is able totransfer and communicate information in an informative and constructivemanner
  • Understandsthe importance about Health & Safety principles and practice andsafeguarding in the delivery of academy coaching and match activities
