Canteen & Training Ground Assistant – Part-Time

Canteen & Training Ground Assistant – Part-Time

Part-Time On-site
Barnsley Football Club

York City Football Club is looking for a reliable, friendly and proactive Canteen & Training Ground Assistant to help provide a clean, welcoming and well-organised environment for our first-team players and football staff.

This is not a cooking role. Breakfast will be prepared or ready to serve. The role is primarily about setting up breakfast, keeping the canteen stocked and presentable, clearing away afterwards, and maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the canteen and communal areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare the canteen ready for players and staff each morning.
  • Set out breakfast items including cereals, granola, yoghurts, fruit, bread, spreads, juices and other prepared food.
  • Replenish breakfast items as required.
  • Clear away and thoroughly clean following breakfast.
  • Load and unload the dishwasher and keep crockery, cutlery and serving equipment clean.
  • Clean tables, worktops, refrigerators, cupboards and food-service areas.
  • Keep the canteen and communal areas clean, tidy and welcoming throughout the morning.
  • Monitor stock levels and advise when items need replenishing.
  • Keep refrigerators, cupboards and storage areas organised.
  • Receive and put away food and canteen deliveries where required.
  • Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene and general cleanliness.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties to help keep the training ground organised and running smoothly.

About The Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Friendly and approachable.
  • Naturally clean, tidy and organised.
  • Proactive and able to see what needs doing.
  • Comfortable working independently.
  • Professional and discreet around players and staff.
  • Committed to maintaining excellent hygiene standards.

Previous catering, hospitality or housekeeping experience would be helpful but is not essential. Reliability, common sense and taking pride in keeping the training ground immaculate are more important.
