The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
To work under the Head of Academy Medical in the management of all players and, where applicable, the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries. The post-holder will be expected to attend all fixtures (home and/or away) to assist with pre-match preparation, match cover, and post-match assessments/treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organise and provide medical provision to all Academy players. Assist with players at other levels as requested by the Head of Medical Services.
- Support the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injured players to ensure a safe Return to Play.
- Implement injury prevention programs and return-to-play protocols.
- Communicate effectively with the Academy coaching team regarding player availability and management.
- Produce weekly injury reports and develop injury audits.
- Work within an MDT team to deliver the best services for players.
- Contribute to the education of placement students in the Academy Medical Department.
- Maintain professional body standards and adhere to FA Anti-Doping regulations.
- Keep up-to-date CPD activities as per professional guidelines.
- Maintain clinical hygiene and patient confidentiality.
- Keep detailed medical records of injured players\’ progress.
About The Candidate
Qualifications:
- Full membership of The CSP, The Society of Sports Therapy, BASRaT, or relevant body.
- Appropriate medical indemnity to treat/advise FA players.
- Advanced Emergency Aid qualification.
Experience:
- Experience working with elite athletes as a therapist.
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualities:
- Understanding of football and its application to performance and recovery.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Organisational and adaptability skills.
- Relationship-building abilities with stakeholders.
- Proactive personal development approach.
Qualifications:
- Postgraduate Sports Medicine/Physiotherapy/S+C related qualification.
