We are seeking a committed and proactive Safeguarding Officer to support the Barnsley Safeguarding Adults Board, working closely with the Strategic Safeguarding Partnership Manager and Board Chair to ensure effective governance and protection of vulnerable adults.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and implementation of the organisation's safeguarding adults approach.
- Contribute to policy review, data collection, and analysis.
- Monitor national and local safeguarding developments to ensure best practice.
- Coordinate Safeguarding Adults Reviews (SARs), monitor progress, design and deliver learning events, evaluate impact.
- Facilitate multi‑agency working and support Board subgroups and task‑and‑finish groups to deliver the strategic plan.
- Collate and analyse safeguarding data to support performance monitoring and strategic planning.
- Contribute to the production of the Board's annual report, business plan, newsletters and webpage.
- Undertake research to inform evidence‑based decision‑making and share best practice.
Qualifications
- Experience in safeguarding or partnership working within adult social care, health, or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, policy, and best practice.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across agencies.
- Commitment to promoting the voice and rights of adults at risk.
