About The Role

Barnsley Safeguarding Adults Board (BSAB) is seeking a skilled and motivated Board Manager to lead and coordinate the strategic delivery of our safeguarding agenda. This is a pivotal role, providing leadership, independent support and expert guidance to the Board, its sub-groups and partners. This role will support Barnsley’ Safeguarding Adult Board and Independent Chair to ensure that there is continual learning and improvement in safeguarding adults in Barnsley. This role will demonstrate the good governance required for the Board to perform its functions and to lead the work in engaging with the community and other partnerships.

You Will

  • Manage and coordinate all activities of the Safeguarding Adults Board
  • Lead on the development and implementation of the BSAB strategic plan
  • Ensure the Board meets its statutory duties under the Care Act 2014
  • Promote effective multi-agency working to safeguard adults with care and support needs
  • Oversee Safeguarding Adults Reviews (SARs), audits, training, and communication

About You

As the Barnsley Safeguarding Adults Board Business Manager, you will be educated to degree level with experience in social care, health or police services. You will have thorough knowledge of the key strategic developments and challenges in the area of Safeguarding Adults with knowledge of The Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act and other key legislation and guidance in relation to health and social care. You will possess excellent organisational, interpersonal and leadership skills to develop and sustain relationships with a partnership focus and be proactive in delivering results.

  • Proven experience in managing multi-agency partnerships
  • Strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills
  • The ability to work independently and drive strategic initiatives
