About The Post

Join Our Team as a Relief Museum Assistant

Location: Barnsley Museums

Positions Available: Up to 8

Hours: Flexible, as and when needed

Do you love heritage, museums, and the arts? Are you passionate about providing excellent customer service and creating memorable experiences for visitors?

Barnsley Museums is looking for friendly and enthusiastic Relief Museum Assistants to support our award-winning venues:

  • Cannon Hall Museum, Park & Gardens
  • Cooper Gallery
  • Elsecar Heritage Centre
  • Experience Barnsley
  • Worsbrough Mill and Country Park
  • Barnsley Archives

What You’ll Do

As part of our Visitor Experience Team, your day could include:

  • Opening and closing historic buildings
  • Welcoming and assisting visitors
  • Selling souvenirs in our gift shops
  • Supporting volunteers
  • Helping care for collections
  • Keeping our sites clean and tidy

No two days are the same, and you’ll play a key role in making sure every visitor has a great experience.
