Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced person to complement the council’s Neighbourhood Services Team in delivering street cleansing services by operating a compact sweeper across the borough, working alongside Area based teams sweeping footpaths to supplement our core offer.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver compact sweeper based street cleansing service.
  • Ensure legislative and health & safety requirements are met.
  • Complete relevant documentation relating to service delivery.
  • Work to agreed schedules and associated requirements.
  • Cooperate with Specialist service to ensure footpaths are swept after herbicide application.
  • Support the service as requested by management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience operating a compact road sweeper.
  • Valid UK driving licence with Category C1 or C1+E.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to undertake duties under pressure to meet targets and deadlines while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Commitment to a 5 from 7 working pattern, with occasional weekend work if required.
  • Basic Criminal Record Check required.
  • Reasonable account of any significant periods (6 months or more in the past 3 years) of time living abroad.
