About the Post

Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join the Business Intelligence team on a 12‑month maternity cover contract, commencing 7 September 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects with data developers and analysts, extracting, integrating, and analysing complex data from multiple systems using advanced SQL.
  • Provide advice to senior leaders on strategic and operational performance management, identifying insights that inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, deliver complex work and support development of new mechanisms to assess impact and measure performance.
  • Develop and present data visualisations, using Power BI, SSRS, Visual Studio, and Excel to analyse key issues.
  • Produce high‑quality, user‑friendly reports and dashboards that display complex information and statutory data, using appropriate visualisations to tell actionable stories and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure performance management information is timely, robust, and used to improve data quality, share insights and strengthen accountability across the organisation.
  • Enable data to be accessed by colleagues through the development of self‑serve capabilities.

Requirements

  • Proactive and analytical individual with a passion for using data to drive improvement.
  • Substantial experience using data visualisation tools and specialist BI solutions to provide information to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Significant experience conducting data quality assessment, cleansing and profiling across multiple sources, and transforming data.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, able to tailor messages and deliver them to diverse audiences.
  • Experience presenting information verbally at meetings, undertaking formal presentations, and confidence using modern technologies and digital tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to build effective relationships across the organisation and communicate complex information clearly to a range of audiences.
  • Level 6 qualification (or equivalent practical experience) in a relevant field.
