Directorate: Children's Services | Service: Commissioning Teams

Salary: £35,412 – £38,220 pro rata

Working Arrangements: Monday to Wednesday

Hours per week: 18.5

Contract type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality SEND information, advice and support to parents, carers, children, and young people in the local area.
  • Actively engage with parents and young people to support them through complex SEND paperwork and processes.
  • Maintain a proficient case load while working at a sustained pace.
  • Use service data reporting systems effectively to record and analyse outcomes.
  • Collaborate with local partners, businesses and organisations to build partnerships that drive positive change for children with SEND.
  • Support service goals and maintain an excellent reputation for the SENDIAS Service.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognised qualifications and experience as outlined in the job profile.
  • Extensive experience working with parents, carers, children and young people, including managing a case load.
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, School Exclusion guidance, the Children and Families Act 2014, Equality Act 2010 and all relevant legislation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of partnership working principles across the local area.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise on self‑advocacy, direct advocacy and when to intervene.

Required Compliance

  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Proficiency in spoken English appropriate for the role.
  • Ability to provide all necessary legal documents at start of employment (e.g., valid visa).
  • Organisation does not possess a Home Office licence and will not provide sponsorship for skilled or temporary migrant workers.
  • Applicants living abroad or with recent overseas residence must arrange an overseas criminal records check.
