Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate defined elements of public health projects within the Health Improvement Team (e.g. suicide prevention, mental health) or within the Health Protection and Healthcare Public Health Team (e.g. tobacco control, health protection, sexual health).
- Support planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence‑based interventions.
- Contribute to commissioning activity and deliver joined‑up approaches with internal and external partners.
- Collaborate with multi‑agency partners and stakeholders to achieve public health outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Good understanding of public health and the wider determinants of health and wellbeing.
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive information in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Strong communication skills and experience working in the public or community sector.
- Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and multi‑agency partners.
- Willingness to work flexibly across public health teams and programmes.
- Legal right of residence and right to work in the UK (extra‑UK candidates must provide valid visa; council does not sponsor).
