About The Post
Are you ready for a role where no two days are the same?
We're looking for a confident and motivated Projects and Contracts Officer to join our Commissioning Improvement and Assurance Team, based within Adult Social Care, to help drive forward key projects, contracts and service improvements in a vibrant and high-impact environment.
This is a varied and challenging post where you will help develop service specifications, support procurement and contract management processes, monitor performance and compliance, and work with senior stakeholders, finance, legal teams and delivery partners to turn plans into results.
Working in Adult Social Care, you will contribute to services that make a real difference to local people, supporting the delivery of high‑quality, sustainable care and support across the borough.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop service specifications that translate policy and programme priorities into clear, deliverable outcomes.
- Support the procurement and contracting process, working closely with finance and legal colleagues.
- Manage and monitor contract performance and compliance, including KPIs and reporting.
- Lead or support the delivery of projects and programmes from initiation through to completion.
- Develop and maintain risk management plans, escalating issues where required.
- Produce high‑quality reports, briefings and presentations for a range of audiences.
- Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to support evidence‑based decision‑making.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, partners and external stakeholders.
- Support governance processes including meetings, action tracking and documentation.
About You
You’ll need strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a focus on quality, performance, risk and budgets.
We Are Looking For Someone Who
- Has experience of project and contract management, ideally within a public or partnership setting.
- Understands procurement, performance management and service delivery frameworks.
- Is confident working with a range of stakeholders, including senior leaders and external partners.
- Has strong analytical skills and can interpret data to inform decision‑making.
- Is proactive, solutions‑focused and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
What We're Looking For
You will ideally have:
- A relevant qualification (e.g. degree, NVQ Level 3/A Levels, or project management qualification such as PRINCE2 or equivalent experience).
- Experience in project delivery, contract monitoring and performance reporting.
- Knowledge of public sector procurement and contract management processes.
- Experience of managing budgets, risks and programme performance.
