We are recruiting for a Strategic Joint Commissioning Lead here in Barnsley, the place of possibilities. This role requires a talented Strategic joint commissioner who has the aptitude for understanding complex needs, the ability to take a whole system view and the creativity to improve services working with service users, and also the skills to encourage a strong provider market.
Responsibilities
- Support the successful delivery of formal partnership arrangements with health commissioners, ensuring a co-ordinated approach around joint commissioning across Education, Health and Care for Children and Young People.
- Lead a portfolio of priority projects linked to the Barnsley Place Plan within the Local Authority and South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board – Barnsley Place.
- Drive innovation and excellence in service delivery, managing patterns of demand differently to improve outcomes.
- Establish strong and effective partnerships to commission services jointly across with health and other providers.
- Lead the strategic transformation and reshaping of services over the medium to longer term.
- Work closely with providers to help them be the best that they can, not only delivering excellent services but also supporting them to deliver added social, economic and environmental value to Barnsley place.
- Demonstrate ability to work in partnership with senior managers across the system and highlight methods for measuring impact and outcomes.
- Manage competing priorities, remain calm under pressure and thrive on a challenge.
Qualifications
- Experience working within a fast-paced commissioning setting with complex groups, service users, and families.
- Sound grasp of the commissioning cycle, specific experience and knowledge in relation to children who need Local Authority care.
- Sound knowledge and experience of SEND.
- Proven partnership working, stakeholder engagement and understanding of national policy and local need.
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a strong team and matrix management approach.
