The Facilities Operative will work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team assisting in the provision of efficient and confidential administration, mail, support and reception services.

Key duties include maintaining telephone and e‑mail contact services, providing advice, guidance and information to customers and ensuring a high quality customer support service.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan and prioritise own workload and respond to new priorities using initiative to agree schedules.
  • Deputise in all building matters; undertake regular health and safety checks, risk assessments and workplace inspections.
  • Provide Fire Warden Support and deputise as a Fire Marshall, maintaining fire log records and monitoring repairs and changes within buildings.
  • Assist with risk assessments and ensure external contractors work safely within the building's policy and procedures.

Requirements

  • Speak English to an appropriate standard.
  • Full Enhanced DBS Check – for overseas residents required to obtain overseas criminal records check.
  • Possess valid visa or be able to obtain one; the council does not sponsor visas.
  • Be willing and able to commence work with all necessary legal documents.
