An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Manager to join the Department of Health, Science, Childcare and Education. The successful candidate will work operationally across the curriculum to develop and support high‑performing Course Leaders, ensuring outstanding quality and standards across their areas of responsibility. This role requires a solution‑focused individual with the ability to objectively self‑assess departmental quality processes and implement incisive actions that accelerate improvement.
You will work closely with the Programme Manager for Teaching, Learning and Employer Engagement, as well as the central Quality Team, to ensure the department is consistently meeting — and exceeding — the College’s ambition for outstanding quality performance. You will play a key role in quality improvement audits and, through the successful promotion and dissemination of evidence‑based practice, will support the development of staff across the programme area. Your contribution will ensure all staff effectively support the drive for curriculum excellence.
The post holder will also lead on Internal Verification and liaise with awarding bodies and External Verifiers. You will ensure the department evidences outstanding practice, maximises the number of courses achieving direct claim status, and maintains this status. In addition, you will oversee the approval of new courses to enhance the department’s portfolio.
The successful individual will work collaboratively with Teaching and Learning Coaches to promote the effective use of digital technologies and provide training and development to curriculum staff. You will support colleagues in exploring how digital tools can strengthen assessment, feedback and progress monitoring. You will demonstrate highly developed leadership skills and the ability to design and implement processes that audit compliance and performance against Course Leader measures. Strong collaboration, professional credibility and the ability to influence others will be central to your effectiveness in this role.
