Barnsley College has an exciting opportunity for a proactive and motivated Team Leader to join our Employer Engagement team. This role is perfect for an ambitious individual who thrives in a sales driven environment and enjoys building strong relationships with employers across SME, Corporate and Public Sector organisations.
As well as managing and motivating a team, you will play a key role in supporting a team in generating sales leads, securing new business and supporting employers through high quality advice and tailored training solutions. You will work collaboratively with internal teams to promote apprenticeships, bespoke training programmes and wider commercial services ensuring our offer continues to meet employer needs and supports the College's income targets.
You will be instrumental in managing and growing a team in generating apprenticeship cohorts, particularly within the apprenticeship provision, and will support employers to maximise training opportunities for their workforce. This is a dynamic role supporting telemarketing, employer meetings, networking events, presentations and cross department collaboration.

About You
You will be confident working in a fast paced sales focused environment and comfortable managing a team to support employers at all levels. You will bring excellent communication skills, strong customer service experience and the ability to build positive productive relationships that generate repeat business for the team. You should be self motivated, persuasive and able to spot opportunities for growth while also being organised and capable of managing the team effectively.
You will be confident using ICT systems, able to analyse information and produce clear reports, and have the resilience and drive needed to meet targets and deadlines. A positive, professional and proactive approach is essential, along with the ability to collaborate with colleagues across multiple departments to support the College's wider employer engagement activity.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required
- GCSE English and maths grade C or above or willingness to work towards.
- 3 years work experience in a fast-paced customer service environment, using a wide range of administrative processes and procedures.
- Experience of managing a team.
- Experience of analysing data and writing and producing reports.
- Evaluating impact and making recommendations.
- Experience of working with a wide range of client groups offering a comprehensive knowledge.
