The Opportunity
Based in our friendly Construction department, you will play a key role in leading and delivering our adult learning programmes at our state-of-the-art Clean Energy Training Centre. This dedicated facility focuses on Renewable Energy, Retrofit, and Sustainable Construction methods, supporting both industry demands and community needs. You will guide the development of a modern, practical curriculum that reflects the latest in construction trends, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and low carbon technologies.
You will take ownership of planning, delivering, and refining construction courses that help our learners build real, hands-on skills. You will teach across a range of programmes and work closely with your colleagues to create high-quality learning experiences. You will be responsible for developing schemes of work, delivering lessons, setting and marking assessments, and ensuring our learners stay on track to achieve their goals. You will also manage delivery models, oversee course staffing, and focus on maintaining strong student attendance, retention and success rates.
Working with employers and industry partners, you will also help shape course content to keep it relevant and responsive. You will contribute to marketing and engagement activity, take part in events, and support recruitment for future learners. You will also lead a small team of staff who support your course area, and you will receive the training you need to carry out this leadership effectively.
You will contribute to course development either independently or as part of a team, helping to expand the department offer and respond to employer needs. Through your teaching, curriculum design, and leadership, you will help our adult learners build the skills and knowledge they need to progress in the fast-changing world of construction.
About You
We are looking for someone with a strong background in construction and a minimum of two years relevant experience as a lecturer or teacher within the field. You will bring not only technical knowledge but also a clear understanding of how to deliver high-quality teaching that supports learners to achieve and progress.
You should have experience in curriculum review, development and planning, and be confident in applying a range of teaching methodologies to suit different learning needs. A key part of the role involves supporting students to succeed, so you will need the ability to give clear and constructive feedback, as well as an understanding of the pastoral needs of adult learners.
You will be someone who can devise effective strategies to improve attendance, retention, achievement and success rates, and you will use data to inform your decisions and drive improvements. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with good IT skills to support teaching, tracking and reporting.

Required
- Cert Ed, PGCE, or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DTLLS) or a willingness to work towards this qualification
- A relevant Level 3 qualification in Construction (or equivalent)
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and maths at Grade C/4 or above
- At least two years of teaching or lecturing experience within the Construction sector
