Overview

Barnesley College is seeking an enthusiastic Electrical Installation Trainer to support apprentices throughout their learning journey, helping them develop industry‑standard knowledge, skills and behaviours while preparing for successful end‑point assessment.

Working closely with apprentices and employers, you will manage a caseload of learners, deliver practical and theoretical training, conduct workplace assessments and reviews, and provide guidance and support to drive learner progress.

Your contribution will maintain outstanding teaching, learning and assessment standards within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Support apprentices in developing industry‑standard knowledge, skills and behaviours.
  • Deliver practical and theoretical training and conduct workplace assessments and reviews.
  • Manage a caseload of learners and collaborate with employers.
  • Contribute to the development of high‑quality apprenticeship provision and maintain teaching, learning and assessment standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation.
  • Assessor Awards or willingness to work toward them; Level 4 teaching qualification or willingness to work toward it.
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2 qualification) or willingness to work toward them.
  • Previous relevant work experience within the industry, including domestic and industrial installations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility, motivation and the ability to inspire learners from a range of backgrounds.
