The Role
The role will focus on supporting clients across a broad range of general insurance work, with responsibility for both winning and delivering projects. This may include capital modelling, reserving, pricing, risk management, and wider actuarial and strategic support for insurers and reinsurers.
A key part of the role is building strong client relationships and identifying new opportunities, while delivering high quality work across varied assignments. We are looking for someone who enjoys working across multiple projects and can combine technical expertise, commercial awareness, and leadership to support clients and contribute to the continued growth of the team.
A snapshot of your day as a Senior Consulting Actuary, for example:
- Delivering high quality actuarial support to insurance and reinsurance clients, including analysing data, building models, and explaining results in clear plain English.
- Managing client work end to end, setting priorities, coordinating teams, reviewing outputs and ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Acting as a key contact for clients, responding to queries, presenting findings, and building strong working relationships.
- Reviewing and developing methodologies, assumptions, and models, and providing clear recommendations with supporting rationale.
- Collaborating with colleagues across teams to deliver wider solutions and share technical knowledge.
- Supporting business development through identifying opportunities, contributing to pitches, and producing thought leadership or marketing content.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Nearly or newly qualified actuary with experience in the general insurance market.
- Experience in capital, reserving, pricing, or a combination of these areas.
- Confident project lead with a clear focus on audit trails, governance, and controls.
- Proven ability to plan and deliver projects on time and within budget, balancing multiple priorities.
- Excellent consulting skills, including clear communication, problem solving, and stakeholder management.
- Flexible and adaptable, comfortable working in a changing environment and responding to evolving client needs.
- Strong team player, able to build rapport quickly and maintain effective working relationships.
- Committed to high professional and ethical standards.
- Experience mentoring and coaching junior colleagues to support their development.
- Ability to identify opportunities, develop practical solutions, and contribute to new propositions.
- Willingness to travel as required.
We recognise that no candidate will meet every requirement listed above. We also welcome hearing about any additional experience you bring that could add value to the role.
