Job Description
Due to further growth of the Bid Team, we are seeking Graduate Designer / Trainee Graphic Designer to join our Birmingham office. This is a permanent position with hybrid working.
Other offices may be considered (Leeds, Liverpool, London, Glasgow, Cheltenham, Bristol, Amersham, Guildford, Manchester) providing you are willing to travel to Birmingham on a regular basis.
The Bid Team works in partnership with all areas of the business to deliver the growth objectives of Barnett Waddingham. Our work includes the management of all tenders through utilising best practice and experience techniques to co-ordinate incoming data streams supporting an increase in the Firm\βs win ratio.
This role is for a creative and enthusiastic Graduate Designer / Trainee Graphic Designer with InDesign experience, a passion for visual storytelling and excellent attention to detail to support in delivering design work for tenders and presentations. The successful candidate will support the Bid Design team in producing high-quality, visually compelling materials for tender submissions and presentations. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone early in their design career or someone looking for a career move who is eager to learn and grow within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Full training provided. The Junior Graphic Designer (Bids) reports to the Head of Bid Management.
A snapshot of your day:
- Assisting in the development of bid and presentation designs and creating and formatting documents to a high standard under the guidance of senior designers
- Working across a range of software packages including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud
- Supporting the production of visual assets that align with brand guidelines and bid objectives
- Participating in design feedback sessions and implementing improvements
- Conducting research to support design storyboards and proposals
- Collaborating with bid managers and subject matter experts to deliver high-quality materials
- Supporting the maintenance of design templates and resources and supporting Design Projects
We would love to hear from if you have:
- Degree in Graphic Design or a related field
- Familiarity with digital and print design principles
- Some relevant work experience is an advantage, ideally in a corporate or agency environment
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Initiative and creativity
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign (essential)
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams with professionalism
