Are you a creative digital designer with a strong foundation in core design principles and a sharp sense of visual storytelling? Do you thrive on bringing bold ideas to life across web, social, motion and interactive content? We have an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking, digital-first Designer to join our award-winning consultancy, recently named one of the UK’s top 100 companies to work for, for a 9 to 12-month fixed term contract (maternity cover). This role can be based in our Birmingham office (Longbridge, B31) on a hybrid working basis between home and office.
As a digital designer, you will be instrumental in delivering a diverse range of design solutions, across both digital and print assets. Typical projects include:
- Creation of corporate literature
- Advertisements
- Newsletters
- Website layouts
- Presentations
All work will be guided by our brand style, which you will help to shape and evolve as we continue to grow. The ideal candidate will bring fresh, creative ideas, demonstrate a willingness to challenge design briefs and maintain up-to-date knowledge of design trends. You will be passionate about digital design, with the flexibility to adapt your approach to the fast-changing digital landscape.
A snapshot of your day:
- Produce professionally designed marketing material which positively projects the firm’s brand both internally and externally.
- Design work including the creation of HTML emails; artwork within existing design templates for our company webpages; landing pages, social posts and supporting assets for marketing campaigns; engaging digital adverts and visuals to use across a range of online media; design solutions for online literature such as interactive PDFs and digital long reads.
- Produce Microsoft templates for company use (incl. Word and PowerPoint).
- Produce internal communications and newsletters as necessary with the support of Microsoft SharePoint.
- Research and interpret briefs, and share creative ideas with clarity.
- Liaise with stakeholders at all levels of seniority, adapting communication style as needed.
- Work closely to support the Design Manager in providing consistency across all design work output.
- Maintain good working knowledge of design trends and latest skills required.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Degree in Design or a related field desirable with proven design experience in a similar role (ideally a minimum of 1 year experience in a design role is expected, and working in a professional services environment would be advantageous but not essential).
- Experience with a varied portfolio demonstrating both offline and online work, demonstrating creativity and problem-solving.
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly in typography, colour, and imagery.
- Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially InDesign and Photoshop, with a working knowledge of After Effects and Premiere Pro.
- Design awareness / familiarity of UX and UI design functions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and related software including PowerPoint and Word.
- Able to confidently research and interpret briefs, and share creative ideas with clarity.
- An understanding of print design and production processes, ensuring you can deliver high-quality work across both digital and traditional formats.
- Comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels of seniority, adapting communication style as needed.
