We have an exciting opportunity for a Consulting Actuary to join our team. This role can be based in our Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, or Glasgow office on a hybrid working basis between home and office. DB Pension experience is essential.
Our services are designed to support trustees and employers by delivering pragmatic advice that brings clarity to complex issues such as investing assets, de-risking, longevity, risk management, and the impact of legislative changes. We undertake a range of services for clients including full-service actuarial consulting, investment consultancy, and standalone projects such as mergers and acquisitions. We offer excellent progression opportunities through to Partner.
This role is suitable for members of an actuarial team eager to pursue a consulting role, typically involving working towards becoming a Scheme Actuary or Corporate Actuary, and developing their own portfolio of appointments. It may also include the role of a Team Leader, working alongside others involved in Client Consulting to ensure operational tasks are conducted efficiently and liaising with Partners to set priorities.
A snapshot of your day:
- Client Consulting: Acting as the main contact, providing advice for a range of clients.
- Assist Partners: Managing client relationships, identifying issues, and helping resolve them promptly.
- Meetings and Reporting: Attending client meetings, identifying new ways we can help, and reviewing draft reports and advice.
- Technical Work: Applying techniques and principles to assess risk in areas such as pensions.
- Quality Assurance: Checking the work of team members for accuracy and compliance.
- Business Development: Identifying opportunities for new business and participating in tenders and pitches.
- Team Management: Managing workload and activity, actively leading the team, and participating in firm-wide meetings.
- Knowledge and Advice: Staying informed on pensions issues and advising clients accordingly.
- Leadership: Managing client teams, ensuring high-quality work within deadlines, and supporting the company's services.
- Peer Review: Reviewing colleagues' work where appropriate.

- Fellowship Actuarial Qualifications FIA / FAA or equivalent.
- DB Pension experience is essential.
