As a key contributor to the SIPP leadership team, the purpose of the Senior Communications Manager role is to lead, manage and continuously enhance SIPP customer communications across the business. The role has strategic and operational accountability for ensuring all customer and distributor communications—verbal, digital and paper-based—are clear, engaging, and deliver good customer outcomes. This is a permanent role that can be based in our Cheltenham or Glasgow office.

A snapshot of your day:

  • Provide strategic leadership for SIPP customer communications, setting standards, direction and priorities aligned to Consumer Duty and the Customer Understanding Outcome.
  • Lead and manage the delivery of Consumer Duty communication accountabilities, acting as a key partner to the Head of SIPP Proposition and other senior stakeholders.
  • Take accountability for ensuring all communications are clear, engaging and outcome-focused, enabling customers to make effective, timely and well-informed decisions, with a clear understanding of risks.
  • Establish and embed best practice principles for simple, logical and consistent communications, ensuring customer needs and behaviours are central to all design and delivery.
  • Ensure communications meet the needs of the defined target market, with oversight of how behavioural biases may impact customer decision-making, and ensuring these are not exploited.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience in a communication role in financial services.
  • Excellent written communications and interpersonal skills including pensions technical writing.
  • Knowledge of the SIPP marketplace is essential.
  • Self-starter, highly organised and able to work well with colleagues at all levels in the organisation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to influence upwards, support complex projects and plan for the longer term.
